Muhammad (Muhammad) - Muhammad Continues Preaching to the Quraish

While the followers of the Prophet sought safety in foreign lands against the persecution of their people, he continued his warnings to the Quraish more strenuously than ever. Again they came to him with offers of riches and honor, which he firmly and utterly refused. But they mocked at him and urged him for miracles to prove his mission. He used to answer: "Allah has not sent me to work wonders; He has sent me to preach to you."

The Bedouin and the Qur'an

One year, when Al-Asma‘ee was on his way to perform hajj, a Bedouin carrying a large sword and a long spear confronted him. It was quite obvious that he was a highway robber. He came near Al-Asma‘ee and instead of fleeing or attempting to escape, Al-Asma‘ee drew nearer to him. He extended greetings of peace to the robber. The latter responded and then asked, "Where are you from?"

Al-Asma‘ee replied, "I am a poor man on a journey,"

The robber asked, "Do you have anything with you?"

Al-Asma‘ee answered, "Yes, I have the Qur'an with me."

The robber asked, "And what is the Qur'an?"

Al-Asma‘ee said, "It is the speech of Allah the Almighty, the Glorified,"

The robber asked, "And does Allah have speech?"

Al-Asma‘ee replied, "Yes,"

The robber said, "Then let me hear some of His speech,"

Al-Asma‘ee recited the following verse: "And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised." [Surah Adh-Dhaariyaat 51:22]

Honouring The Leader Of The Believers

‛Umar ibn al-Khaṭaab (may Allah be pleased with him), who sought little from this world and who very much disliked to see manifestations of richness or extravagance from his governors.

Ibrahim (Abraham) - The Faith of the Believers

Almighty Allah declared: Those (i.e., believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said: "Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them." But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: 'Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)."
So they returned with Grace and Bounty from Allah. No harm touched them; and they followed the good Pleasure of Allah. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty. It is onlySatan that suggests to you the fear of his Auliya supporters and friends (polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad), so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are (true) believers." Surah 3: 173-175

The Slave Of ‘Umar ibn ‘Abdul-Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him)

‘Umar ibn ‘Abdul-Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) had a servant named Dirham, who would gather wood for him and take care of his sheep.

‘Umar (may Allah have mercy on him) one day asked him, "What do the people say, O Dirham?" He said, "And what should they say - all of them are in a good state of affairs, while you and I are in a bad state of affairs."

‘Umar (may Allah have mercy on him) asked, "And how is that?" He said, "I was with you before you became caliph, when your clothes were good, your mount was strong, and your food was wonderful. When you were appointed as ruler, I was hoping to relax and work less, but instead my work has become more difficult and you are always in a state of tribulation."

‘Umar (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "You are free. Go away from me and leave me in the state that I find myself to be in until Allah makes a way out from it for me."

Muhammad (Muhammad) - The First Hijrah

Persecution by the Quraish grew fiercer every day and the sufferings of the Prophet's disciples became unbearable. He had heard of the righteousness, tolerance, and hospitality of the neighboring Christian king of Abyssinia. He recommended such of his companions who were without protection to seek refuge in the kingdom of that pious king, Al Najashi (Negus). Some fifteen of the unprotected adherents of Islam promptly availed themselves of the advice and sailed to Abyssinia. Here they met with a very kind reception from the Negus. This is called the first hijrah (migration) in the history of Islamand occurred in the fifth year of the Prophet Muhammad's mission, A.D. 615. These emigrants were soon followed by many of their fellow sufferers, until the number reached eighty-three men and eighteen women.

The Shaikh And A Pigeon
A friend of mine told me this story: When I was young I had a shaikh, one of the greatest human beings I have ever known. I had met him quite by accident. He lived in a small shack in a poor neighborhood. I had to deliver some medicine for my father's pharmacy. Once inside this man's quarters I realized I was in the presence of someone quite unusual. For one thing, he possessed the relics of several great shaikhs of different orders. The day I met him he was having a conversation with two other young men about my own age. Their names were Metin and Refik. After hearing their conversation I began to lose interest in the things that had occupied me. I wanted only to attend these conversations. The three of us were learning so much that we wished that more and more people could also hear these conversations.

Ibrahim (Abraham) - Abraham's Childhood

He was endowed with spiritual understanding from an early age. Allah enlightened his heart and mind and gave him wisdom from childhood. Allah the Almighty stated: And indeed We bestowed aforetime on Abraham his (portion of) guidance, and We were Well-Acquainted with him (as to his Belief in the Oneness of Allah, etc.). Surah 21: 51
During his early childhood Abraham realized that his father made strange statues. One day, he asked him about what it was he made. His father replied that he made statues of gods. Abraham was astonished and he spontaneously rejected the idea. Being a child, he played with such statues, sitting on their backs as people sit on the backs of donkeys and mules.
One day, his father saw him riding the statue of Mardukh and he became furious. He ordered his son not to play with it again.
Abraham asked: "What is this statue, father? It has big ears, bigger than ours."

Muhammad (Muhammad) - Muhammad - Youth to Manhood

After this journey, the youth of Muhammad seems to have been passed uneventfully, but all authorities agree in ascribing to him such correctness of manners and purity of morals as were rare among the people of Mecca. The fair character and the honorable bearing of the unobtrusive youth won the approbation of the citizens of Mecca, and by common consent he received the title of "Al Ameen," The Faithful.
In his early years, Muhammad was not free from the cares of life. He had to watch the flocks of his uncle, who, like the rest of the Barn Hashim, had lost the greater part of his wealth.

The Shepherd
Once upon a time, there lived in Basra an old man whose only occupation was caring for and loving his only son who was a handsome young man. The old man invested all his money on his son's education. The young man went away for a few years and acquired an education at a well known university under the great scholars of that age.
The day had arrived for the son to return from his studies and the old man waited at the door for his son. When the son came and met his father, the old man looked into his eyes and felt great disappointment. "What have you learnt my son?" he asked, "I have learnt everything there was to be learnt, father", he said. "But have you learnt what cannot be taught?" asked the father. "Go, my son and learn what cannot be taught", said the old man.
The young man went back to his master and asked him to teach him what cannot be taught.
"Go away to the mountains with these four hundred sheep and come back when they are one thousand", said the master.

Ibrahim (Abraham) - The Idolaters Try to Burn Abraham

Anger was burning in their hearts. They decided to throw Abraham into the biggest fire they could build. All the citizens were ordered to gather wood as a service to their gods. Ignorant, sick women vowed that if they were cured they would donate so much wood to burn Abraham. For several days they collected fuel.
They dug a deep pit, filled it with firewood and ignited it. They brought a catapult with which to cast Abraham into the fire. Abraham was put on the catapult, his hands and feet tied. The fire was ready with its flames reaching the sky. The people stood away from the pit because of the great heat. Then the chief priest gave his order to cast Abraham into the fire.
The angel Gabriel came near Abraham's head and asked him: "0 Abraham, do you wish for anything?" Abraham replied: "Nothing from you."

True Story....
There was once a man who was an enemy to Islam. He had three famous questions that no person could answer. No Islamic scholar in Baghdad could answer his three questions...thus he made fun of Islam in public. He constantly ridiculed Islam and the Muslims. One day a small boy, who`s age was 10, came along and heard the man yelling and screaming at Muslims in the street. He was challenging people openly to answer the three questions.
The boy stood quietly and watched. He then decided that he would challenge the man. He walked up and told the man, "I will accept your challenge".
The man laughed at the boy and ridiculed the Muslims even more by saying, "A ten year old boy challenges me. Is this all you people have to offer!"
But the boy patiently reiterated his stance. He would challenge the man, and with Allah`s help and guidance, he would put this to an end. The man finally accepted.

In The Best Interest Of The Orphans

One of the Caliphs of al-Andalus, decided to build a castle for one of his wives in Qurtubah (Cordoba); however, the location on which he wanted to build the castle was neighbored by a small home that was inhabited by orphans under the patronage of the judge.

The Caliph asked to buy that small home. They said, "We will not sell it except by the permission of the judge."
