Prophet Yusuf (a)
Prophet Yusuf (a)
The Pharaoh of Egypt
called Firawn had many
people working for him.
One of his assistants had
a very wicked wife who
said many things about
Yusuf that were quite
untrue. She thought
she loved him but he
told her that she should
honour her husband.
She became very angry
and persuaded her
husband to have Yusuf
put in prison.
While he was in prison,
Yusuf used to tell everyone
what their dreams meant
and his explanation of the
dreams always came true.
Allah had given Yusuf
this great gift.
Firawn kept
having a strange dream
and none of his wise men
could explain what it meant.
Then Firawn heard of
Yusuf's great gift and
sent for him.
Yusuf would not leave
the prison until he had
proven his innocence.
Firawn had an inquiry
and discovered that Yusuf
really was innocent, so
he was able to leave prison.
Firawn's dream was most
unusual. In it, he saw
seven skinny cows eat
seven big fat ones and
there were seven skinny
Shuaib (Shuaib) - Shuaib's Message
Shuaib (Shuaib) - Shuaib's Message
Allah the Almighty revealed the story of Shuaib : And to (the people of) Madyan (Madian) (We sent) their brother Shuaib. He said: "0 my people! Worship Allah, you have no other Ilah (God) but Him. Verily, a clear proof (sign) from your Lord has come unto you; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not men in their things, and do not mischief on the earth after it has been set in order, that will be better for you, if you are believers. And sit not on every road, threatening, and hindering from the Path of Allah those who believe in Him, and seeking to make it crooked. And remember when you were but few, and He multiplied you. And see what was the end of the Mufsideen (mischief-makers, corrupts, liars). And if there is a party of you who believes in that which I have been sent and a party who do not believe, so be patient until Allah judges between us, and He is the Best of judges."
Muhammad (Muhammad) - The Quraish Become Alarmed
Muhammad (Muhammad) - The Quraish Become Alarmed
As the number of believers increased and the cause of the Prophet was strengthened by the conversions of many powerful citizens, the Prophet's preaching alarmed the Quraish. Their power and prestige were at stake. They were the custodians of the idols which the Prophet had threatened to destroy; they were the ministers of the worship which he denounced; in fact their existence and living wholly depended upon the maintenance of the old institutions. The Prophet taught that in the sight of his Lord all humans were equal, the only distinction recognized among them being the weight of their piety.
Disagreement Over Delicacies
Disagreement Over Delicacies
As a ruler and his wife were seated for dinner, they argued over which of two kinds of sweets was better and more delicious. On the same day, a famous judge came to meet the ruler, and he invited him immediately to join them in their meal. When the judge arrived, the ruler informed him about the difference of opinion between himself and his wife over the two kinds of sweets. He demanded of the judge to rule between them, and the judge playfully said, "I cannot rule over that which is absent!" so the servants hurried to present before him the two different kinds of sweets.
Muhammad (Muhammad) - A Warning to the Disbelievers - Qur'anic
Muhammad (Muhammad) - A Warning to the Disbelievers - Qur'anic
Almighty Allah said: Nay they wonder that there has come to them a warner (Muhammad) from among themselves. So the disbelievers say: 'This is a strange thing! When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be resurrected?) That is a far return." We know that which the earth takes of them (theft dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e., the Book of Decrees).
Nay but they have denied the truth (this Quran) when it has come to them, so they are in a confused state (can not differentiate between right and wrong). Have they not looked at the heaven above them, how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no rifts in it? And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants).
Prophet Ibrahim (a) & Prophet Ishaq (a)
Prophet Ibrahim (a) & Prophet Ishaq (a)
The Well of Zamzam
where water first flowed
to save the lives of
Hajar and Ismail, became
a popular place for the
caravans to stop.
Some people liked the
place so much they decided
to stay there.
This place became known
as Makkah.
One day Ibrahim had
a message from Allah.
He and Ismail were to
build a place for
people to pray.
They were to build
an altar, it was to
be known as the Ka'aba.
The angel Jibrail
brought the message
saying that the Ka'aba
should be built near
the Well of Zamzam,
the most sacred place
on earth.
The foundation stone
for the Ka'aba was to
come from heaven.
It is found today in a
corner of the Ka'aba and is
known as the black stone.
When Ibrahim was
building the Ka'aba
he was standing on
a large rock. Allah
softened the rock and
the shape of Ibrahim's
bare feet was left in
it. It is still there,
for all to see.
When Ibrahim was
very old the angels
came to see him and
Ali becomes a Muslim
Ali becomes a Muslim
One day, when Ali (radiAllahu anhu) was ten years old, he came home and saw something strange. Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) was standing with his head bent forward and his hands folded on his chest. His wife Khadijah (radiAllahu anha), was also standing beside him, doing the same thing.
As Ali watched them, Muhammad and Khadijah bowed towards the ground. They stayed in that position for a moment and then stood up straight again. Ali wondered what they were doing. Then he saw them go down on their knees and touch the ground with their foreheads.
"What a strange thing to do!", though Ali (radiAllahu anhu). "I have often seen people bowing down before stone idols, but there is no idol here. Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) and Khadijah (radiAllahu anha) are certainly not worshipping an idol, but they are worshipping Someone."
Habil and Qabil
Habil and Qabil
Adam had two sons
called Habil and Qabil.
Adam thought that
Habil, the younger son,
should take over after him.
But Qabil didn't like this
idea and was very
jealous.
To settle the argument
Adam thought of an idea.
He told his sons to think
of a present to give to
Allah and to leave it
on top of a certain hill.
The one whose
present Allah accepted,
would win the
argument.
Allah chose Habil's
present because Habil
had taken a lot
of time and trouble
to choose his present.
Qabil was very upset and
angry. He was so angry
that he killed his
own brother. Afterwards,
when he realised what
he had done, he cried
and cried but it was
too late to be sorry.
Muhammad (Muhammad) - Muhammad's Childhood
Muhammad (Muhammad) - Muhammad's Childhood
Before he was six years old his mother died, and the doubly orphaned Muhammad was put under the charge of his grandfather Abdul Muttalib who took tender care of him. But the old chief died two years afterwards. On his deathbed he confided to his son Abu Talib the charge of the little orphan.
When Muhammad was twelve years old, he accompanied his uncle Abu Talib on a mercantile journey to Syria, and they proceeded as far as Busra. The journey lasted for some months. It was at Busra that the Christian monk Bahira met Muhammad. He is related to have said to Abu Talib: "Return with this boy and guard him against the hatred of the Jews, for a great career awaits your nephew."

Muhammad (Muhammad) - Utba and the Quraish Try to Bribe Muhammad
One day the Quraish tried to induce the Prophet to discontinue his teachings of the new religion which had sown discord among their people. Utba Ibn Rabi'a, was delegated to see the Prophet and speak to him. Utba said: "0 son of my brother, you are distinguished by your qualities; yet you have sown discord among our people and cast dissension in our families; you denounced our gods and goddesses and you charge our ancestors with impiety. Now we have come to make a proposition to you, and I ask you to think well before you reject it."
"I am listening to you, 0 father of Walid," said the Prophet.
Ibrahim ibn Adham (ra) giving advice against disobedience
Ibrahim ibn Adham (ra) giving advice against disobedience
A man came to Ibrahim ibn Adham, may Allah be pleased with him, and said, "Abu Ishaq, I am unable to control myself. Please give me something to help me with it"
"If you accept five conditions," said Ibrahim, "and are able to put them into practice, your disobedience will not cause you any problem."
"Just tell me what they are, Abu Ishaq!" the man said. "The first is that when you want to disobey Allah you do not eat anything He provides." "Then how will I get anything to eat? Everything on the earth is from Him!" "So is it right to eat His provision and disobey Him at the same time?" replied Ibrahim.
"No, it is not. What is the second condition?" "When you want to disobey him, move off His land."
"That is even more difficult! Exclaimed the man. "In that case where will I live?"
"Is it right to eat his provision and live on His land and then to disobey Him?" asked Ibrahim. "No, it is not."
Ayoub (Job) - Job's Family History
Ayoub (Job) - Job's Family History
Ibn Ishaaq stated that he was a man of Rum. His name was Job, Ibn Mose, Ibn Razeh, Ibn Esau, Ibn Isaac , Ibn Abraham . Someone else said he was Job, Ibn Mose, Ibn Rimil, Ibn Esau, Ibn Isaac, Ibn Jacob. There have also been other statements on his lineage. Ibn Asaker narrated that his mother was a daughter of Lot . It was said, also, that his father was one who believed in Abraham when he was cast into the fire.
The first opinion is the most plausable, because he was a descendant of Abraham's offspring as Allah Almighty declared: And that was Our proof which We gave Abraham against his people. We raise whom We will in degrees. Certainly your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing. And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob, each of them We guided, and before him, We guided Noah, and among his progeny David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. Thus do We reward the good-doers. Surah 6: 83-84
Ibrahim (Abraham) - Abraham's Dialogue with Namrud
Ibrahim (Abraham) - Abraham's Dialogue with Namrud
Abraham had established a definite reasoning against idolators. Nothing was left for him except to reason against the people who proclaimed themselves gods.
When the king, Namrud, heard of Abraham's safe exit from the fire he became very angry. He feared that the status of godhead he had proclaimed for himself was now challenged by an ordinary human being. He summoned Abraham to the palace and held a dialogue with him, which Allah the Almighty recounted: Have you not thought about him who disputed with Abraham about his Lord (Allah), because Allah had given him the kingdom? When Abraham said (to him). 'My Lord (Allah) is He Who gives life and causes death." He said: "I give life and cause death." Abraham said: "Verily! Allah causes the sun to rise from the east; then cause it you to rise from the west." So the disbeliever was utterly defeated. And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimeen (wrongdoers, etc.). Surah 2: 258
Couldn't Stop Him Self
Couldn't Stop Him Self
A Bedouin attended a banquet that was held by al-Ḥajjaaj. When the sweets were served, al-Ḥajjaaj let the Bedouin eat a bite and then announced, "Whoever eats this (sweets), I will cut his throat." Everyone who was present refrained from eating; the Bedouin, however, alternated between looking at the sweets and looking at al-Ḥajjaaj; this continued for a while, until he finally said,;Leader of the Believers, I kindly ask you to do well by my children.
The Atheist Teacher
The Atheist Teacher
A young woman teacher with obvious liberal tendencies explains to her class of small children that she is an atheist. She asks her class if they're atheists too. Not really knowing what atheism is but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks. There is, however, one exception. A beautiful girl named Zainab has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not an atheist."
Then, asks the teacher, "What are you?" "I'm a Muslim." The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Zainab why she is a Muslim. "Well, I was brought up knowing and loving God. My mom is a Muslim, and my dad is a Muslim, so I am a Muslim."
The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly, "what if your mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron, - what would you be then?" She paused, and smiled. "Then," says Zainab, "I'd be an atheist."
